My photo has won the Grand Prize in the 2026 POWER UP Magazine Photo Contest!
Gina Kvitkovich, POWER UP Magazine’s editor-in-chief, says this about the Grand Prize photo: “This photo captures the essence of vertical aviation. Schweizer Armee PC-7 Staffel

Fotografie über dem Matterhorn – PC-7 TEAM

Als Fotograf hatte ich die einzigartige Gelegenheit, die PC-7 TEAM Staffel der Schweizer Luftwaffe über dem Matterhorn in Zermatt zu begleiten. Die Formation ist neben der Patrouille Suisse die zweite Kunstflugstaffel der Luftwaffe. Geflogen wird von Militärpiloten des Berufsfliegerkorps, die im regulären Dienst auf der F/A-18 Hornet im Einsatz stehen.
Die Aufnahmen zeigen die Präzision, Dynamik und Eleganz der PC-7 TEAM Piloten inmitten der hochalpinen Kulisse des Matterhorns ein seltenes und spektakuläres Zusammenspiel von Schweizer Aviatik und Bergwelt.

Photography above the Matterhorn – PC-7 TEAM

As a photographer, I had the unique opportunity to accompany the Swiss Air Force’s PC-7 TEAM squadron above the Matterhorn in Zermatt. Alongside the Patrouille Suisse, this formation is the Air Force’s second aerobatic squadron. The pilots are military pilots from the professional flying corps who are on regular duty flying the F/A-18 Hornet.
The photographs show the precision, dynamism and elegance of the PC-7 TEAM pilots against the high alpine backdrop of the Matterhorn – a rare and spectacular interplay between Swiss aviation and the mountain world.
